From a very early age, Genevieve has had a very keen ear and interest in music. Like so many of her contemporaries, she grew up in the church singing gospel music.
Over the years, Genevieve has developed her own unique smooth but exuberant vocal style, with a confident presence when singing.
She performs with Black Voices, who shared the stage with Nina Simone, Ray Charles and Destiny’s Child and also recorded “Spiritual Journey” with the group. She has toured worldwide, in South Africa, USA and many places in Europe, experiencing many different styles and cultures. She also performs with the energetic West Midlands based group, Up 4 the Down Stroke. A memorable moment for Genevieve was when she sang with Take 6 at their master-class at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
Currently Genevieve has been working with Birmingham Opera Company on a production, Verdi’s La Traviata, directed by Graham Vick. She also performed at the opening of Birmingham’s prestigious Town Hall with the BBC Big-Band, Strings of the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra, and duet with Ruby Turner just to name a few of her achievements
Genevieve is an established solo artist and will soon be releasing her CD Single “Never be the same again”.
